How long does a lip filler procedure take?
Lip filler treatments are roughly 1 hour from start to finish. Your appointment will start with a comprehensive consultation to discuss your lip goals and answer any questions you may have to give you the best result possible. Topical numbing cream will be applied for 10 - 15 minutes to improve your comfort. The procedure itself will take anywhere between 20 - 30 minutes, you will be given aftercare instructions, lip balm and an ice pack to use during your healing process.

How long do results last?
The duration of results can last anywhere from 6 months up to 2 years, depending on your metabolism, which product is used and its variation. We use high quality FDA approved dermal fillers including Juvéderm, Restylane and Revanesse.
After your initial lip filler appointment, a touch up appointment is ideal at 14 to 18 days. You will notice a gradual decrease over time as your filler is metabolized. Keep in mind that achieving your desired size and shape may require more than 1 appointment when first starting out. Typically, 2 filler appointments and a touch up appointment for those wanting extra volume and definition.

Does lip augmentation hurt?
A numbing cream will be applied and is expected to take effect within 10 to 20 minutes. You might experience slight pinching, stinging sensations, pressure, or minimal discomfort during the procedure, while some individuals may feel very little. Overall, it is a well-tolerated procedure. Additionally, the dermal fillers contain a small amount of lidocaine to provide extra numbing during the injection.

What should I expect after my lip filler procedure?
You will see a noticeable enhancement of your lips immediately after your lip filler procedure. You can expect swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness with swelling peaking the next day and starting to decrease by day 4. Bruising and tenderness can last 7 to 10 days. Lip filler tends to fully settle at 2 to 4 weeks at which point you will see your final healed result. As the swelling and bruising diminish, and your filler integrates and softens, your lips may appear 10 to 30 percent smaller than the immediate result. Occasionally, small lumps/bumps can develop and are very transient and go away on their own in about 2 to 4 weeks as your filler softens and integrates. Pain can be managed with Tylenol, and arnica tablets can be used for bruising and swelling, though it is optional. Arnica is a homeopathic remedy available over the counter.

Aftercare / Things to avoid?
-
Keep your lips moisturized with the lip balm provided to you or with Aquaphor.
-
No makeup or lipstick on your lips for 48 hours.
-
Be gentle with your lips for the first few days, do not make excessive unnecessary exaggerated mouth movements. Stick to foods that are easy to eat. If you eat anything very salty or spicy, you can expect more swelling for the first couple days.
-
Avoid kissing, massaging or firm pressure of your lips after the procedure for 72 hours as this can increase swelling and cause filler to move or migrate.
-
No facial massages or dental procedures for 2 weeks.
-
No alcohol for 24 hours.
-
No excessive exercise for 24 hours.
-
avoid saunas, steam rooms or heated exercise as this can cause more swelling for 48 hours.
-
Best to avoid these things for 3 days.

Is lip filler reversible?
Yes, hyaluronidase serves as a reversing agent to dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers when desired or necessary, especially in emergency situations. Lip corrections can also involve the use of hyaluronidase to address migrated filler, lumps, bumps, and other issues. In cases where clients have had unsatisfactory results from previous filler treatments elsewhere, dissolving the filler is necessary to correct the problems and achieve a more desirable outcome.

How much does Lip Augmentation with lip filler cost?
The cost of dermal fillers varies depending on factors such as the product used, the number of syringes required, geographic location, injector experience, and the time and effort the procedure requires. Individual injectors or medical spas can set their own prices as they best see fit. On average, prices can range on the low end at $400 for one syringe all the way up to $1,500, with an average of $650+ per syringe.
